STORIES CHANGING MINDS

Inside Mental Illness Education ACT

2008

This book documents the model of mental health promotion developed by Mental Illness Education ACT. Personal stories of mental illness are at the core of this organisation's work. Mental Illness Education ACT trains and supports people who live with mental illness, or care for a loved one with mental illness, and their stories have been successful in reducing stigma and discrimination and promoting mental health literacy. The book is based on oral histories,  extensive interviews, archival research, and includes sixty-nine photographs and a foreword by Margaret Lukes OAM. Design by Design Edge. It is downloadable from the website of Mental Illness Education ACT.
